Legal Resources Centre (LRC)

The Legal Resources Centre (LRC) is a pioneering public interest law organization in South Africa, established in 1979. The LRC is dedicated to using law as a tool for social change, fighting for human rights, and ensuring justice for marginalized and vulnerable communities. Their mission is to promote and protect human rights, deepen democracy, and challenge systemic injustice through litigation, research, advocacy, and community education. The LRC has a strong track record in addressing socio-economic rights, land reform, housing, education, health, and environmental justice. Their efforts have led to significant legal victories, policy changes, and the empowerment of communities to stand up for their rights.

Human Rights Media Trust (HRMT)

The Human Rights Media Trust (HRMT) focuses on leveraging media and communication to advance human rights and social justice. Founded on the belief that storytelling and journalism are powerful tools for change, HRMT produces content that highlights human rights violations, raises awareness, and advocates for policy reform. Their work includes documentary films, investigative journalism, and multimedia campaigns. By providing a platform for underrepresented voices and creating compelling narratives, HRMT aims to educate the public, influence opinion leaders, and mobilise support for human rights causes. They also provide training and support for journalists and media professionals to enhance their ability to report on human rights issues effectively.

Brot für die Welt (BfdW)

Brot für die Welt (Bread for the World) is a globally recognised German aid organisation focused on combating hunger, poverty, and injustice. With a rich history dating back to 1959, BfdW operates in over 90 countries, supporting projects that promote sustainable development and empower communities. Their initiatives cover a wide range of areas, including food security, health, education, water and sanitation, and climate change adaptation.
